State Contest

Preteens and Make It For Others:

Winners: 2.5 yards of wool fabric

2nd Place: 1.5 yards of wool fabric

3rd place: $25 prize

4th and lower will also receive prizes

1^st Prize:  Sewing Shears

2nd Prize and on:  also receive prizes

Juniors, Seniors, and Adults:

Winners: 2.5 yards of wool fabric, a “State Winner Make It With Wool” garment bag, and $100

2nd place: 2.5 yards of wool fabric

3rd place: 1.5 yards of wool fabric

4th and lower will also receive prizes

Adult Winner will send his/her garment

s to the national competition.

Senior and Junior Winners will receive up to $300 toward their airfare to the national competition.

***National competition also has special awards with cash and other prizes for Junior and Senior competitors:

NATIONAL SPECIAL AWARDS:

• Exemplary Construction – Junior and Senior award for outstanding construction techniques (donors vary)
• Machine Embroidery – overall best use of machine embroidery (donors vary)
• Mohair Award – top garments using mohair fabric or yarn. (Mohair Council of America and others)
• Handwork Award – top garments using hand embroidery, beading, or hand felting techniques (donors vary)
• Needlework Award – top hand-knitted or crocheted garments (donors vary)
•Peoples Choice Award – contestant with the most votes at the national competition by their peers, family, friends, etc.  This is a public voting event ($1 = 1 Vote)  A cash prize is awarded to the winner.
•Social Media Award –  Junior and Senior with the most votes or likes on our national Facebook page during the week of the contest. Winner receives a prize.
