The Make It With Wool Contest has been promoting the versatility, beauty and wearability of wool since 1947! Contestants of all ages, from pre-teens through adults, sew, knit, crochet, weave or felt wool garments, which are judged on quality and presentation.

Washington’s state contest will be held on Saturday, October 19th at Sewing and Design School in Tacoma. Mini-workshops or question/answer sessions on working with wool may be held during the construction judging, and suggestions will be offered to those advancing to nationals!

Won’t you join us, and Make It With Wool?! Enjoy sharing your creativity and skills, gain valuable life experiences, form wonderful friendships with people who share your appreciation of wool, and make precious memories!


Tentative 2024 Schedule for State Contest Saturday, October 19th:

9:30 am –  All contestants drop off wool garments (only the wool garments to be judged; on hangers and remove the garment bags) at Sewing and Design School in Tacoma.

10:00-12 noon –  Construction judging.  Workshop(s) will be given to contestants during this time in the classroom at the school.

12 noon to 1 pm –  Lunch on your own.  There is a variety of local eateries to choose from.

1 pm – Pick up wool garments; be dressed by 1:30 pm for Presentation/Modeling Judging.

1:30-3:00 pm – Presentation/Modeling Judging.  Bring your best smile!

3:00 pm – Fashion Show and Awards  ***Public Welcome to attend***
